Annie is a leopard
Appaloosa in her mid to late twenties. She was left abandoned in a pasture for three years before the Kitsap Humane Society
found her. However, they were unable to catch her, and therefore asked the Foundation to take direct possession. We did this
as soon as we had an opening. It took several hours for Foundation volunteers to catch her and transport her to her new home.
Since then, she has become more comfortable around
people as her trust is slowly returning. Her teeth and feet, which suffered from thrush at some point before the Foundation
got her, were in very bad condition when she came, and she has had many, many hoof trimmings to straighten them out. Her feet
are still in bad condition and unfortunately will not recover enough for her to be ridden again. She is currently living with
one of our adult students.
